The Ministry of Impartation

We are going to continue with our look at a very important subject for those wanting to be used effectively by God in public ministry. That is "The Ministry Of Impartation." When I speak of impartation I meanthe ability to give unto others that which God has given to us ... either sovereignly, or through other anointed vessels (messengers) of God.

The Greek word for "impartation" is "metadidomi" meaning:
  • "to give over, i.e. share: give, impart" (Strong's);
  • "to give a share of" (Young's);
  • "to share in association with anyone, i.e. to impart, communicate" (Bullinger's);
  1.  to communicate (information, etc.); relate.
  2.  to give or bestow (something)" (Collins).
Other words we can use to help bring a clearer meaning are: "transmit, pass on, confer, transfer."

There are two main ways by which impartation happens to us:

1.  FROM GOD HIMSELF:
A sovereign, divine impartation that enables us to do what we've not been able to do before.

In Numbers 11 we read that the burden of Leadership was becoming too heavy on Moses' life. When he cried out to God about this, God's response was to get Moses to gather together 70 men of the Elders of Israel:

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with you.

And I will come down and talk with you there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon you, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone" (Numbers 11:16-17 , KJV).

God promised to take of the spirit that was upon Moses and impart or put it upon the 70 elders, so they could carry the burden that Moses was carrying.

"And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and sat them round about the tabernacle.
And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him (Moses), and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and did not cease" (Numbers 11:24-25 , KJV).

God divinely imparted of the spirit from Moses to the 70 Elders. When that happened they began to prophesy - something they had never done before. That impartation enabled them to take on greater responsibility to support Moses, to minister to the people and to release the Holy Spirit out of their lives to bless others in a more powerful way. There was a transferring from one to another, so the one receiving could function much more like the one doing the imparting or transferring.

We will continue with

1. Impartation by laying on of hands
2. Impartation to receive the Holy Ghost
3. Impartation for blessing

Next time!

The Power of Impartation

I want to share with you today the power that God has given ministries across the world yet we do not fulfill what God has called us to do.

Maybe because one of the major (so called Pentecostal) denomination says, and I quote. Resolution 16 of the Assembly of God,
WHEREAS,Latter Rain doctrines such as impartation, birthing, Joel's Army, and the five-fold ministries taught as offices with predictive prophecy are again being heard in the new revival; and
WHEREAS, As a result, ministers and churches are being divided and members are becoming confused about the authority of the Scripture; therefore, be it

And yet in spite of their erroneous error of man, God's Word says we can receive the anointing through “impartation”.

Rom 1:11-12 NKJV

For I long to see you, that I may impart {#3330} to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established — that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

The reason impartation causes division is because it is man controlled, and not Holy Spirit Controlled.

Acording to the Greek:

IMPARTATION - GREEK
metadidomi NT:3330 metadidomi (met-ad-id'-o-mee); from NT:3326 and NT:1325; to give over, i.e.  share: KJV - give, imparticiple
There is Impartation Through the Laying on of Hands

One kind of impartation is through the laying on of hands.  This is an official symbolic act in the Old Testament and New Testament.

Laying on of hands in the Old Testament was an act of blessing.

Gen 48:14-15 NKJV
Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.  And he blessed Joseph.  It was a ritual of sacrifice and transference of sin.
Ex 29:10-11
"You shall also have the bull brought before the tabernacle of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull.
Lev 16:20-21
Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat...  It was an act of setting apart for consecration for service.
Num 8:10 NKJV
So you shall bring the Levites before the LORD, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites;

Laying on of hands in the New Testament was an act to receive the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:15-19
Who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.  For as yet He had fallen upon none of them.  They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.  And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, "Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
Acts 19:6 NKJV
And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.  It was an act to impart or stir up gifts of God.
2 Tim 1:6 NKJV
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  It was an act to set apart for ministry.
Acts 13:2-3 NKJV
The Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.  It was an act to impart healing.
Mark 16:18 NKJV
...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Laying on of hands in the New Testament was an act to impart healing.
Mark 16:18 NKJV
...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

On my next blog we will discuss further, "The Power of Impartation."

God Will Protect you fromYour Enemy

5/02/2012

2 Samuel 22:15 – And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

God does not want you to live with “what if” in mind.  Thoughts of something terrible that might happen is a scheme of the devil.  Satan will tell you, “what if you get ill?”, “what if you are injured or killed?”, “what if your finances fail?”, or “what if something happens to your loved one?”  etc.  The devil is a liar because the Mighty God of power has already interrupted him.  If satan could have taken you out so easily, he would have already done so!  He cannot do it because something has restrained him; it is called the arrows of the Lord’s anointing!  They have flown right into the middle of the enemy’s war camp and burnt his mapped out plan to a crisp, even when you didn’t know about it!  Believe today that the schemes of darkness are being confused all around you.  Refrain from giving time to negative thoughts of fear.  Speak to them, sing and rejoice because God has already defended you!  Don’t think on what could happen, but rather in what God has already stopped and interrupted for you.  God is working for you in the spirit and no plot of darkness will prosper against you today!
